I have an account that I set up years ago for my laptop. I used it yesterday and the laptop went into sleep mode. I started the laptop up today and went to login to be met with a message to say PC Offline login with details. I’ve been fighting with this PC for two days now, trying to fix its freezing issues and keep all of the files on it for my mother. Error Code 80072EFE: I have an old Dell laptop running windows 8.1. The last known updates were ran in 2012. Some of the programs I've tried to get into wont function properly because they say they need to be updated, understandably so. i.e.. windows photo, video, defender, firewall, etc. I went into the start menu>settings>update & security>windows update; ran it and got this, above mentioned, error code.
