We have just changed from XP to WIndows 7 and one of our Account Supervisors are finding it different to work with. In Excel in the number format you can't format negative numbers in red and ( ). You can set up a custom but then you have to set it up for all documents. You can set up a Macro which he did but it is an additional step. In Accounting this is a normal practice to you brackets around negative numbers. He has found in Power Point that was created in Office 7 on XP is he embedded a spreadsheet worked on it then came out it would automatically autosize the sheet back to fit the slide on his new machine if he works with the embedded spreadsheet it doesn't resize it's self and leaves the spread sheet showing outside the slide. He has a number of Presentations that he uses from year to year and he is starting to worry that it is going to take a lot of time with his new system. One of the neat things that worked in XP was the ability in the Open screen of any of the suites application that you could create a shortcut to in the left hand side of that screen that would allow a person to open a folder quickly instead of creating a mapped drive. These are a few of the things that only cropped up after we moved from XP to Windows 7. I have never seen an operating system change the way a program runs . I have seen changes on how to open a program but not the internal workings. If you have any ideas on how to correct the problems that I have listed above please let me know. View the thread

I have a a6410t HP PC. I clicked on CONTROL PANEL-PERSONALIZATION-ADJUST FONT SIZE (DPI) - CUSTOM DPI entered 206 ,clicked on APPLY and restarted PC.. But the size of the font increased the window size so much that I can't get to the bottom where the CUSTOM DPI AND apply buttons are so I can make it small again. Also can't use Restore for the same reason., any help will be greatly appreciated and time is critical. View this thread

Using WIndows 7 - my HP printer works fine with documents, but won't print any emails. whenever I try to print an email "There was an error when printing started.To check printer setup, double-click the Printer icon in Windows Control Panel" appears - when clicked it shows printer" Device working properly" . Hello: please help?? I ran check disc utility and it stops at 11% then goes to a black screen saying Diskette drive 0 seek failure. I have a disc with OS on it but can't get it to work. This has been going on for 2 days. Options f1 and f2. If I press f1 then the utility starts again. I'm puzzled. Any help would be appreciated!! View this thread

When attempted to system restore.During the end of process after reboot get a pop up.System restore did not complete properly.Unspecified error occurred.I believe at one point approximately 6+months ago it was reading registry error.Attempted restore with an earlier back up point.Same message displayed.There have been so many times this would of been great to use.Anything to due or have I some how destroyed this portion of os? Why is a small gray blinking box in my bing search window on the left side inside the bar where you type? Started last month May 2012. My computer is up to date via microsoft. I am thinking that it has something to do with that but am somewhat bothered by this little gray box considering it was never there before. Have updated my daughters computer and she to has the little gray box in her search engine as well. Not even sure where to post this, I see files, Folders and search but chose Microsoft updates thinking that this has something to do with the updates anyway. View this thread

My information when setting up windows live mail is wrong ,I apparently did not know the correct answers because I can't send out mail. I get and error , proxy,pop 3 etc. and it shows an old email I had so something is not right. I need to know how to get back in and do it right I have like 12 e-mails I've tried and gave up but there sitting to be sent and then it won't go through.
