[OT] Keylogging and Virtual Console

I read that a virtual console is effective against keylogging. Is it
implemented in VM (virtual machine)? Is there an explanation somewhere about
how the console works to prevent or detect keylogging? What's the best
console, and is there a highly regarded one?

For the first time in my life I hear that using VM you are protected against
keylogger installed on the host machine . You use the same keyboard for the
VM and for the host computer so the malware will still be able to log the
data...

I did not say VM was involved here. I asked the question if it was. If you
can tell me what a virtual console is then maybe we will get somewhere.

Hi Wayne,
There a lots of types of Virtual Console. One is any method used to control
a computer system without using an attached keyboard, mouse, or monitor. The
most common method today is probably using RDP to control a remote system.
This is probably what Panda_Man was thinking of. Some method of virtual
console is necessary with VMs. If you search online you'll probably see the
most common referce is to running Game Consoles, like the Wii or PS2, on a PC.

I would guess though that the statement was about running multiple logical
consoles on a text based operating system. This is kind of the old
definition. The reason that i say that the statement was refering to this
definition is that it may be true. I bet you aren't using Linux, so I'm going
to ignore this.

There are alot of important things that are far more important, to name a few:
1) Keep your computer patched to date.
2) Do not run as an admin
3) Run updated Anti-Virus software
4) Run updated Anti-Spyware software
