Invalid class string

All of a sudden my Canon digital camera software, ZoomBrowser,
produces the message

"Invalid class string"

when I try to run it by double-clicking on the icon.

The computer did freeze when accessing some web page recently,
but I haven't run the camera software for some time.

I re-installed the software that came with the camera, and I
get the same result.

Should I uninstall/delete all the camera stuff before the
re-install?

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Kindrick

If uninstalling/reinstalling everything including the camera drivers doesn't help:

Check Canon's support site for your specific model and/or software on the error
message.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportIndexAct

Hopefully you have a fully up-to-date antivirus application installed. According
to one tidbit I found on Canons site which had a similar error message, it is caused
by the Klez virus.
