Group messages in Win.7

[Stinkweed]

I pretty much have it all set up but in my groups, I can't find where to set

the messeges to expand like they do with Win XP. You know when you post a

message there is a plus sign beside it and to see the ans. to that post you

just click on the plus and the message expands. I cannot find where to make

it do that in Windows Express. Can anyone please help?

Since you failed to state which program you're using, I'll just give you an

answer that fits one of the possibilities:

Tools, Options, Read.

It is Windows Express Mail it comes with windows 7 it is somewhat like

Outlook Express but different in many ways. They don't have Outlook Express

anymore for mail or groups. I get my messages on the same page and email.

I am also using Giganews, but that really has nothing to do with the set up.

Right now I am on my laptop in bed sick. But thought I would ask if anyone

had ran across this problem and was able to solve it. I have found just

about everything else but that. I have to be missing something somewhere

but I sure don't know where.

Do you mean Windows Live Mail? On the menu Bar: View | View By

Conversation. Check it.



There is a small solid > in front of the thread instead of the + sign.



Don't see the Menu Bar?



The Alt button will temporally enable the Menu Bar, or click on the Menus

button to the left of the Help button and enable the Menu Bar.

No, it doesn't come with Windows 7. In fact no e-mail program comes

with Windows 7. If you bought a Windows 7 computer that came with

Windows Live Mail, it was because the vendor who sold it to you

installed Windows Live Mail, not because it comes with Windows 7.

Then almost certainly you are talking about Windows Live Mail. It

essentially the latest version of Outlook Express, but with a

Yes, that is what I meant, I thought I said that but looking back I don't

see it. I will give this a try today, thank you so much. I have been

batting my head against the wall putting everything together for about 2

weeks now and heard of this group yesterday evening. When I get to my other

computer I will give it a try and let you know.

Windows Live Mail. I'm sorry I got that wrong. It is all so new to me and

I have had such a hard time getting it going, I wish I had heard of this

group before.

Hi Stinkweed,

Windows 7 is pretty and fun, but takes a bit of getting used to.



Windows Live Mail isn't half as user friendly as Outlook Express.

Correction : it's a lot worse than Outlook Express.



There is a Microsoft Communities group for Windows Live Mail:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop



When you have everything set up and find a few things not working as in OE,

please tell Microsoft to change it back the way it was by going to Help>Send

Feedback.

You won't believe it, but I have to start all over again. Somehow putting

software in the computer the dang computer got all messed up and I have to

start from scratch all over again. :-(

Oh yea, I had just bought a new piece of software and lost it. I have

learned not to click on the mouse if you don't know what it means, I have

learned you can't move one program from one machine to another successfully,

that was the last straw. Well I guess it is what made the whole thing go

haywire. I have learned never to try to set your computer back to another

date.. I just learned a whole lot of things.... :-(

Hi Grenou, I haven't seen you for awhile on the net. How are you? The

rotten thing is it took me 2 weeks of pure extreme stress setting the stupid

computer up. I almost had it made, then I tried to put a program I have in

my laptop into it. That is when things started to go to you know where in a

handbasket. It just got worse and worse till it just doesn't work right.

Not for the purposes I wanted it. Tell the gang at the group I said Hi!
