Interesting. Canonical, the Ubuntu parent trust, was established with

a 10 million dollar endowment, Wow!

Then we discover that Microsoft had third-quarter revenues of $14.50

billion. Goodness, M.S. could buy the whole Canonical empire, and

1,400 more just like them, just out of one quarter's revenues.

MS sells this filth rate operating system(according to alias and his

ilk) and puts 14 billion greenback American dollars in their pocket

and Ubuntu has to give their stuff away.

Sort of gives dimension to alias' arguments, doesn't it.

It's amazing how little money is needed if one puts one's mind to it,

isn't it?

So could the cocaine cartels and the Vatican. Just because MS has the

money doesn't therefore imply that Canonical is for sale.

The idea that quantity means quality is a false argument but a very

common one from idiots like you.

They took Debian, and filled it with proprietary software.

They didn't exactly start from scratch there, dumbass.

Don't worry alias, there is no reason to buy canonical.

You just grab any current distro that strikes your fancy, change the

wallpaper, and viola ... you have a brand new distro.

Ubuntu was such high quality, that even WalMart(king of

quality, winkwink) dumped PCs preloaded with it after 2 months.

If WalMart dumps something that's free, something ain't right.

No WalMart in Spain. Computer stores here are mostly franchises and all

of them offer computers with Ubuntu preinstalled. In the USA, the land

that voted Bush in twice, folks aren't so smart and buy their computers

at Walmart and Best Buy. So, naturally, Ubuntu wouldn't fare well at a

store that specializes in selling to people who don't know any better.

Ah, the old "Americans don't use Linux cause they're too stupid to

realize how superior it is" sales pitch.

So, Linux marketer, how are sales?

What?

You say about 0.25% of the market?

That's 0.0025, by the way.

You sell it, so it is for sale (keep the hogwash about charging for

sticking a live-CD in the tray as the sold part).

The people prefer Windows, that's why it's sold to them.

Since you have several copies of Windows, you in the "unknowing" group?

No, I charge for installing and tweaking it to suit the client as well

What?

The GIMP isn't any good?

So much for that high quality Open Source software.

The few games I've played in Linux were pretty disapointing.

Even solitaire seems to tax Linuxes graphics capabilities (parts of the

screen don't refresh...you have to drag a card over those areas to fix

it).

Oh boy...can't wait until full fledged games play just as poorly.

You miss the whole point which is that Microsoft has gotten extremely

wealthy marketing an operating system that you describe as extremely

bad, but which is, today, installed on something like 95% of all

computers.. Which means that something like 95 percent of all computer

users are stupid for buying it.... or you are.

Probably for the same reason that Tesco sells computers with Ubuntu

installed on them. They are cheap, and that is what Tesco is selling,

cheap stuff.

It would certainly be embarrassing if it were. Think of the earning

And so, the truth is finally out. alias sells the fantastically

wonderful Ubuntu operating system and he says that it is the best

thing since sliced bread.

I didn't use the word "stupid". Most Windows users don't know any better

and if anything goes south, they wouldn't know what to do to fix it

other than take it to someone who does.

Well, now they don't have to take it to someone to fix it. The

development of automated, bespoke solutions for individual

computers has long been an aim and now it's here courtesy of Microsoft.

/usr/lib/mozilla (threw you off, huh)

LOL.

Not even a guess?

That is where the symbolic link goes.

The actual plugin is in the directory you created the java install in.

For me, that is

/usr/java/jre1.6.0_20/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

You should copy this stuff.
