We all knew this was coming. MS to shut down news servers.

It would have been a far better solution if Microsoft had used a

reliable package like MPNews. It provides unified Web forums,

newsgroups, RSS feeds, mailing lists, and blogs all from the same

source. http://www.messagepixels.com/mpnews/

I have used a NNTP service provided by MPNews for years and have never

known it to fail.

It's a great pity that Microsoft insist on reinventing the wheel every

few years.

I use msnews.microsoft.com and privatenews.microsoft.com directly so

the ISP is only needed for a connection. My ISP still provides Usenet

but I don't depend on it.

Wrong! They're doing it because they want to give real help to those who

ask for it and not let a cock sucking son of cheap whore drugged out

XP users do not need XP newsgroups so cutting them off will not kill

anything. XP will slowly fade away because Windows 7 is an improvement

and most new PCs have it pre installed.

Unfortunately, the MS news server doesn't host a Windows 7 group.

Nope, they do not and that was the first sign MS was going to get rid of

their news server. When they stopped making newsgroups for new products,

but made new forums for them.

I use MPNews for my personal news group archive. Ever since Message Pixels

took over from Mutant Penguin support has fallen to the point that it is

non-existent. Last time I had a question (only a month or so ago) I

couldn't even post to their news groups or use their forums, and their web

site "contact us" was failing as well.

Leave me out of your fantasies, you retard.

It does probably have a little to do with Death.

They can't have people called Death using their NGs.

Names like Death, Vlad-the-Impaler, Stroke-the-Monkey,

Alias-the-Ubuntard, etc create an image MS would likely want to

disassociate with.

I don't blame them.

I wouldn't hire someone with a nose-ring, facial tattoos, and a missing

eye to greet customers...though I'm sure that you would...for those

imaginary businesses you claim to run.
