Dual Boot for WinME and Win2000?

Which isn't what you have said on more than one occasion in this thread.
Adaptec have had nothing to do with Easy CD Creator or CD burning for many
years so if you are using CD software from Adaptec is it outdated and
severely limited in functionality such a being unlikely to support CD and
DVD burning hardware marketed in the last five years or more. For example
even the most basic and rudimentary of modern CD burning applications
includes the ability to burn iso files which are simply disk images.

Harry, if its not too late - just a little reminder of the message I posted
to you a while ago (15th July) when you were first considering installing
Ububtu :-

"Harry, - if you're watching - DON'T go the two disk (dual boot) route. Just
start with an old 'spare' (hard drive) in place of the existing (known good
and working) C: and don't even consider a second disk at this stage! You can
easily replace the disk if Ubuntu goes pear-shaped and you'll have your
(WinMe) system back."

My experience was a PITA trying to regain my WinMe HDD back from the Dual
Boot utility.

Not to worry, Mart, I don't plan to do 'anything' foolish and I remember
your post, but I am proceeding much more cautiously.
I just discovered something, which may keep me from advancing any further
with my attempts to install Ubuntu on my machine, as is.
I may decide to install W2k, or leave things exactly the way they are, but
as of now: no ubuntu on this machine (sorry about that, Alias).

Sorry you think that way, Mike. You may think it's factual, but it isn't,
with reference to your first reply and as for this one, my Adaptec works as
good as any other utility in this category and I got the DeepBurner working
right beside it
Whatever happened before, was not Adaptec's fault, but merely a learning
experience. Why can't you be happy that things are 'on track' now for me,
instead of bringing up remembrances of things past, which aren't worth
talking about,
unless they would help to make things better?
That includes your "Sidekick".

I stand corrected, John:
When I tried a second time, the DeepBurner worked perfectly and produced the
'ISO' image on my CD. Trouble is, it looks and is exactly the same as a
previous data cd. For all I can tell right now, I'll abandon installation of
ubuntu at this time on my present machine, for reason's of a personal
nature.

There is no reason at all for you to be 'p***** o**'. It is definitely not a
matter of making up my mind, you ought to know that, Alias. It has to do
with technical implications which, at the moment will not allow me to
