Outlook not respoding

I have Win 10 Pro, Outlook 2010, use Chrome. The past week I continually get above message, "outlook not responding" and my email screen is changed from what I use, with reading screen on right. What is causing this? Any email I attempt to delete causes the blue circle and the above message. (I don't use Outlook.com)
