Somehow you're running an ISP-customized version of IE (as denoted by the IS
in "6.0.2800.1106IS"), but it wasn't necessarily IE v6 that was customized.
(IOW, it may have been, e.g., IE5.5 SP1 IE5.5 or IE5.01 SP1.) This may
have something to do with it.

That being said, other than the error involving MSTIME.DLL when you attempt
to Repair or Overinstall IE6 SP1, is IE6 working OK for you or is it still
"crashing" (as posted by you in your first post in this thread)?

Wish I'd read this reply before posting my last one.

Sounds like a hijackware problem to me.

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

In the face of Dan's & Bear's scary comments, STILL I did click...
http://www.nfl.com/

It did load truly a ton of TIFs that avast! Antivirus did scan-- I have
it set to display them in pop-up boxes. There was no report of a virus
coming in. A few times the screen did blink blue during its download.
However, I had no crash. The screen remains active after downloading, as
some images are animated & do change. Process Explorer reports CPU usage
for that IE instance to be as low as in the 20%'s & as high as in the
50%'s. After clicking a link on the page, CPU usage rose into the 70%'s.
Also, typing is SLOW!

Uh-oh, my Kerio Firewall has asked twice for permission that I
denied...!...

'Internet Explorer' from your computer wants to connect to
72.246.30.180, port 1935

'Internet Explorer' from your computer wants to connect to
72.246.30.179, port 443

I also denied all its Cookie offerings. I don't like that site at all!
Lucky I'm a baseball guy! After closing Process Explorer, typing is
normal, though. (It uses a lot of CPU, itself.) Let me click another
link... typing is near-normal after the download, even though animation
continues. Everything is perfectly normal after closing the site, that I
can see.

SO... its a BUSY site, but didn't crash me. Do run those badie-detectors
Bear suggested-- & let me know the result. But I thankfully don't
immediately see anything especially suspicious in my own HiJackThis
report.

Well, I did a scan with Spybot S&D, no change, then a scan with
XoftSpySE, it found a LOT more bad stuff! I permitted it to fix
everything, and re-booted.

I then went back to nfl.com and NO FLASHING, NO BLINKING! However,
upon clicking on the page, another page partially loaded, then the
"White Box" returned... IEXPLORE caused a problem....CLOSE or
IGNORE. Details of following screens were as follows...

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module GDI.EXE at 0001:0000722c.
Registers:
EAX=00100001 CS=058f EIP=0000722c EFLGS=00000202
EBX=0000c04f SS=6137 ESP=0000ad08 EBP=0000ad0c

and eventually I have to reboot...The START button will "push down",
but stays "down" and does nothing...

I see a Microsoft acrticle about this, but it deals with an error
message upon printing a page, due to a corrupted font "BD DENVER",
which does not exist in my font folder..

Seems there's always more than one problem...

Anybody got a suggestion given this "new" information?

If you have indeed cleaned out all the malware, and are able to shut down
completely, and then reboot up the system without any more detected malware
problems, then perhaps you can reinstall IE at this point. At least
that's one suggestion. And if that doesn't work, and you still keep
getting these page fault errors and are unable to go further with it in
debugging here, you might consider a fresh new install of windows, painful
as that is.

1. Your best solution is to backup data that you need and fully scan it
with antivirus and antispyware for problems.

2. Prepare for a complete format of your PC (Get needed cd's, floppies,
manuals, techinical friend's help if you need it, etc.)

3. Format after you are all set

4. Reinstall Windows and programs

5. In the future make sure you make backups frequently of your data and
have proper safety precautions in place before connecting to the Internet

Yes, post your HijackThis log in an appropriate forum for review by an
expert. See my previous reply. (I wouldn't recommend installing or using
XoftSpy.)

I have posted to a Hijack This site in the past and it was to the bleeping
site and they were very helpful. However, later on I still had to do a
backup, format and reinstall of Windows 98 Second Edition because my system
was too far gone in the past. Hopefully, Robear's solution will work for
you and I would make it my first choice then follow my advice if you are not
satisfied after also doing full anti-spyware scans with utilities such as
Spybot Search and Destroy and doing a full anti-virus scan with a utility
such as AVG antivirus.
