Move TS 2003 license service to another machine?

L

Leythos

I have two terminal servers (both 2003 Standard) and would like to move
the License server from TS1 to a member server XR1 from TS1 - I don't
see a way to export the licenses and move them to the new server....

Anyone got a link on how to move the License service to another server?

Hi,

There is no way to export the licenses. You need to contact
the Clearinghouse and have them reissue your TS CALs so
that you can install them on your new TS Licensing server.

HOW TO: Locate a Phone Number for the Microsoft Clearinghouse

Actually, I still have all of the keys printed, that we used to install
them the first time - been a while - I'll just try adding them into the
new server and if it works I'll deactivate the old one.

Set up the license server and then call the Clearing House. The licenses
have to be reissued.... The total time on the call is only a few minutes.

Be sure you have the paperwork from the purchase....
