VMware Inc., a pioneer in virtualization software for industry-
standard computers is seeking an experienced candidate with expertise
in Systems Management in Windows to provide the roadmap for
integration with VirtualCenter. The candidate must be able to
actively contribute to architecture and design as well as drive
Windows System Management products, architecture discussions with a
strong understanding of the software development process. Prior
success in and enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment with aggressive
development cycles is critical. The candidate must also be capable of
leading a small team to drive the Windows Management frame work and
technology across cross-functional teams to take these ideas to
implementation. The candidate will work with VMware's award winning
Virtual Infrastructure Management products and tools like VMware
VirtualCenter, VMware Converter and VMware Virtual Machine Importer.
Senior Engineers at VMware are those who have developed a recognized
standing in their specialties are known for major innovation and
creativity and have a history of broad technical leadership in
problem definition, and solutions.

Responsibilities

As a senior member of the engineering staff, you will do the
following:

· Lead architecture, design and implementation of major subsystems and
product lines within an enterprise-class server management platform
· Lead architecture, define roadmap and drive successful Windows
System Management integration within VirtualCenter
· Assume broad responsibility for highly technical or complex projects
and problems
· Represent VMware to customers in presenting and defending company
designs, proposals or developments
· Contribute significantly to white papers, external publications,
conference proceedings and industry standardization.
· Work with Product Managers on the strategy of the product, analyzing
requirements and planning releases.
· Clearly communicate with upper management any risk areas and come up
with risk mitigation plans.
· Assist in planning projects and resource requirements to
· achieve optimal results
· Work with team members to ensure high productivity, teamwork and
competency promote innovative concepts and new ideas.
· Attract other senior talent into VMware, Inc.


Requirements

· 12+ years of software product development with exceptional strengths
in system architecture, design, system management, programming and
leadership integrating builds with Windows System Management
· Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
· Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and under a fast
pace environment
· Knowledge of developing distributed systems spanning multiple
operating systems
· System scalability experience: must have deep understanding of
scalability issues in Windows.
· Proven ability to deliver commercial quality software.
· Experience in public speaking to be able to give technical
presentations.
· Master's degree in Computer Science from a reputable university.

Experience with WMI
Experience with Operations Manager Management Packs
Experience with WS-Man, DSI and/or CIM
