Windows shut down and restarts

When I go to start and go to shut down My computer will shut down and restart
again, How do I fix this so the computer will shut down and not restart right
away? Windows 98 2nd on gateway computer.

Check the BIOS for any "Wake On" settings that may be enabled and disable them.

Click Start>Run, type MSCONFIG and click OK.
On the General tab, click the Advanced button.
Click to put a check mark in the box for "Disable fast shutdown", and click OK.
Click OK to close Msconfig, and restart the computer.
