Error 1-4 on installing HP Reverb. Tested on a different pc and it works.

Hi everyone.

Specs and devices:


HMD : Samsung Odyssey +

HP Reverb v1 gen 2

Pcs . PC #1 Win 10 pro fully updated

Specs I7 8700 msi z170 nvidia gtx 1080 32G RAM - both Samsung Odyssey + and HP Reverb are working flawless.

PC #2 Win 10 pro fully updated, dual boot with a fresh fully updated Win 10 Pro install on a different M2 SSD

Specs I7 7700 msi z270 m7 Nvidia GTX 1080ti 32G Ram - Samsung Odyssey+ works on both Win 10 installations, HP Reverb gives Check your headset display cable to make sure it is plugged in correctly. ERROR 1-4


Problem: Getting the HP reverb to work on PC#2. no matter what I tried, different USB ports, different DP, disable/enable via device manager, uninstall/reinstall GPU drivers, HMD drivers, even Mixed Reality Portal, Windows refresh, Windows over Windows install, other generic advices etc it stays at the 1-4 error. On PC#1 with lower spec MB and GPU works like a charm.

Any ideas? I have both systems side by side so I can try anything.....
