W2K3 File Share Access

I have an NT domain 'DOMAIN' and one W2K3 R2 Standard file server. The W2K3
server is not joined to the domain, but belongs to a workgroup 'DOMAIN'. I
have a few XP workstations which also belong to a workgroup 'DOMAIN'. When
attempting to access shares on W2K3 file server shares, they are prompted to
enter their credentials. File shares are shared with everyone full control.
Is there a prevent users from being prompted for their passwords - without
having to join the NT domain?

In server 2003, Everyone requires authentication -- in 2000, this was not the
case. It is possible to change the handling of the everyone group but it is
very much not recommended. You are better off keeping the authentication to
prevent problems on your network -- remember that viruses thrive on
unauthenticated access.
