Fatal OE when trying to play Freecell in Windows 98

I am using Windows 98 , I have recently started with the Qwest bundling with
MSN DSL, now when I try to play Freecell or any of the games that where
preloaded with 98, I get a blue screen that says a fatal exception OE has
occurred at 0028:C0282364 in VXD VWIN32(05) + 00000BF4, then it says hit any
key or Ctrl-Alt-Del- then it freezes, can anyone explain what this means and
if it is fixable, please do not tell me to get a new computer because I am
unable to thank you.

Go to Start -> Run and type "msconfig".

Check the Startup tab for any new applications that may have been
added by your DSL software installer. Uncheck any suspect ones and
reboot.

I am sorry I did not say that I was just a tad bit computer challenged
especially in windows how do I tell a suspect one Frank I did as you said but
when I got there I was more than befuddled not sure is I am supposed to
delete all the qwest msn start up or what? also if I do that won't it mean I
no longer can connect to the internet, but it still doesnot tell me in
English what that phrase means, also my computer will not let me defragment
it it just keeps going over and over and never progressing, thank you G.

If you uncheck the Qwest entries and reboot, and if your games then
behave, then it would suggest that something is wrong with the Qwest
software. I don't know where you would go from there, except to say
that you shouldn't normally require any software for your DSL
connection (assuming your modem handles PPPoE).

BTW, unchecking any Startup entry doesn't delete it, it just stops it
from autorunning at every boot. You can run msconfig again and simply
tick any disabled entry to enable it again.

This usually means that some background job (Qwest?) is accessing the
disc while the defragmenter is running, causing the defragmenter to
restart.
