Secure and reliable online file storing

Does somebody can suggest me a place where i could store a copy of my
critical files? Something, reliable and secure.

i found x-drive.com, do you know it? Do you know better sites?

It doesn't matter for me if its not free. The most important for me is the
security, although my files will be encrypted, i dont want to get them going
all around the planet...
I wanna make backup my files and then get them out of my house, now im
burning dvd and keep the dvd in my office but the online strorage looks to
be an interesting option. What do you think about that, may i trust it?

I have used a number of services, including carbonite.com, mozy.com, and
idrive.com and was fairly happy with them, although each one lacked certain
features I wanted. They all have continuous realtime backup features and
both mozy and idrive offer free 2gb accounts which is nice when you just
want to backup your most critical files.

What you need to do is figure out the features you want. For example,
carbonite doesn't let you backup very large files, Mozy Home doesn't work on
Windows server 2003, but those both are very easy to use and once installed
you never have to think about them again. Carbonite integrates well with
Explorer. Idrive lets you map a drive letter to access your online storage.

As for security, all of these services encrypt your files both during
transfer and while stored. If you encrypt your files before backing up
(i.e., copy files into an encrypted .zip file and only backup that file)
then you have another layer of security.

Godaddy has onlinefilefolder.com which is a pay service and pretty good for
manually storing files and lets you share them with others. However, the
files aren't stored in an encrypted state like they are with the other
backup services.

Microsoft also has a service at foldershare.com that lets you do backups by
keeping folders on two computers in remote locations in synch. That way you
only store the files on computers you control.

I have never tested xdrive, that will have to be the next one to try out.
