ME RIP

Quicken, TaxCut, TurboTax, McAfee renewals are no longer supporting ME
as of later this year.

I am migrating to stay with Qucken and TaxCut.

But I wonder what the alternatives are?

Avast has a free virus scan that still runs on ME

The only alternatives would be to take your finances and tax stuff to an
accountant or do them manually yourself....I know, not a viable
alternative!!

The only viable alternatives would be for your migration to XP, Vista or
some other OS.
Heirloom, old and XP was mine

MrTom

Try Taxact (http://www.taxact.com) for a Windows ME tax program. They
have a free bare bones Federal version so you could give it a try to see
if it acceptable to you. If you want more features or a state version
you will have to pay a bit. Unfortunately, Taxact cannot import data
from either Taxcut or Turbotax.

In recent years I have been using Taxcut, but this year I will probably
give Taxact a try and wait another year to get a new computer with an
up-to-date operating system.

Hello:

I see that TaxAct has already been mentioned as a Win ME compatible tax
program.

Take a look at the shareware AceMoney (
http://www.mechcad.net/products/acemoney/ ) for a financial program that
still supports win 9x/ME.

Cheers,
O.J.

I bought a COMPAQ Deskpro EN SFF with win 2k for $100 on ebay.
No writable CD. OK for Taxcut but I will need more storage for
Quicken.
