I've seen SCSI do that. If SCSI is detected, some SCSI BIOS's will
try to walk the entire SCSI bus to scan for devices, one at a time. That
means reset and timeout for each device in order.

That is true, as ms admits. I can't find who, but someone in here did
figure he overestimated the duration of post besides you. I can't blame
dadiOH for not figuring it too. Me 'n Blanton WOULD have-- but you beat

First screen, second screen... The terms are meaningless. POST can consist
of dozens of screens or only one. POST is what the computer does to check
things out before it starts looking for an operating system. On some
computers, one screen covers that all up, on my machine it goes through at
least eight screens (JMICRON & RAID controllers and other crap).
