Legacy Server 2008 R2 Question

Hi Everyone. I have a question around Server 2008 R2. I know this OS is legacy, unsupported and a risk to any organisation and of course migrating applications to supported platforms is always priority. However, I am working on a project around onboarding legacy servers to Defender Endpoint. Onboarding Server 2008 R2 SP1 works, I have completed and documented this process, however to make things even worse I am being asked if it is supported for Server 2008 R2 non SP1. I cannot meet the prerequisites for Defender Onboarding because a lot of the prereqs require SP1.Has anyone got any real exper
