Help with headers and sub-headers with running numbers.

In a word document (legal pleading), I have numbered headers (discovery questions) that run consecutively throughout the document. I need to place a sub header that does not fit (too many characters) when I am in the Numbering Library under Define New Number Format. Does anyone know a work around? Example: Question 1: How do I do this Answer to Question 1: (the title I have has too many characters for the Define New Number Format)........Question 2: How do I do this againAnswer to Question 2:......so on and so forth .......
