Ot: Snow

Well, another blast of snow here today and an extra foot on the ground.
I walked out of my house today and climbed atop of my snowbank and
from my new vantage point I can look down and observe the top of Mount
Everest...

We had at most a few inches of snow the whole season. How boring !
Especially since I get full pay for snow days.

Looks like snow records from Eastern Canada to the Maritimes this year. I
believe Toronto surpassed a record dating back to 1939. I read somewhere
that Quebec City also beat some record that goes back to the early 1900's.
Thankfully the season is over, or almost over!!!

Global warming doesn't just mean things are getting warmer, the effects
are far greater and include more extreme weather including hurricanes and
tornadoes due to ocean warming etc.

Re: Snow

Not yet, Dapper......we are 17 centimetres short of the 1939 record!!!!

But I do remember the *Snowstorm of '44*......Toronto was a ghost town.
Nothing was able to move. I remember looking up at the huge snowbanks,
but then I was just a toddler. (G)

Re: Snow

Don't think I will retire to the Maritimes.....your Winters are BRUTAL!!
Summers are nice tho.

Hang in there......perhaps the snow will start melting in June.
(snicker) My poor trees and bushes are going to be permanently
flattened. What a b*tch of a winter here too.

Somehow, I knew that....but, thanks, Mike! I just wish it had some sort of
lawn control built in....stunt the growth or something. It's a bummer
having to mow in December, but, it beats shoveling snow!!!
Heirloom, old and the new Ice Age is coming due
to large volumes of methane from Texas.

Hey, Loom,

Methane is one of the major gas contributors to global warming.
Scientists are studying ways to reduce methane emissions from cows. Ha,
they forgot to look in Texas. )

Cheers,
