The following link is the forum for AutoPatcher for Win98SE which
follows the progress of the software since its creation in August
2006.

As I wrote (before the removal of my contribution from this subject),
I am a non-techie, no nothing about the 98SE update regime, kept 98SE
up to date until July/06, because I still want to use it. I gave an
emphatic "USE AT YOUR OWN RISK" warning to anyone wanting to try
AutoPatcher, backup your "C" drive with Norton Ghost or alternative. I
then "TOOK THE PLUNGE", installing the complete earlier Oct/07 version
of AutoPatcher, then installing the "Essential Components" section of
the most recent version of AutoPatcher (which updates to February/08).
My "non-techie" opinion is that my computer, my Win98SE OS has never
run better. That's all I know, maybe I just got lucky.
I am also using the highly controversial Revolution Pack 7.11 (which
comes as a manual install in the AutoPatcher package) which transforms
the legacy appearance of 98SE into either XP or Vista. I am currently
running a contemporary, quite exciting Vista theme, wallpaper, icons
etc. The installation of RP7.11 carries a "USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION",
MIGHT HAVE TO RE-INSTALL 98SE" warning, can really screw up your
machine. Perhaps I just got lucky again but it works great for me, the
look of Vista + the complete update of 98SE, this naive non-techie
feels like he is enjoying computing again in an exciting new way. JUST
MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!!
