Happy with Vista after latest updates

L

Well, it appears that MS has finally got the poor video performance
issue solved, at least for the systems I'm using.

When I installed Vista many times, in testing, even using beta drivers,
on my test systems, the best I could get was a 1.3 on video performance.
Using the exact same systems, a fresh install of Vista Business shows a
1.0 video experience, but, after installing a BUNCH of updates from MS,
I'm up to 4.8 without any hardware changes.

So, as is normal, waiting for 6+ months or the first SP proves to be the
right decision again.

I'm happy with Vista Business now.

Microsoft never wrote the video card drivers that you now have!
They DON'T write 3rd party hardware drivers!
They get them from the Hardware manufacturers!

And the ones on Windows Updates are months behind!

If you want the latest Drivers for 3rd party Hardware, go to the
Manufacturer's website, and download drivers from there, NOT Windows Update.

I know where they come from, but it was really sad that MS shipped such
lousy drivers for the new OS - you would have thought they would want to
have the best for common hardware to make the product shine.

As a note, I did visit the vendors sites and download beta drivers and
such, it wasn't until this week when testing again that drivers using
Windows Update provided any real performance.

Most intelligent computer users know not to use drivers off of Windows
Update in the first place, Lameboy, just like they know that Symantec

What would you know about intelligence Mr. linturd

What am I when I boot into Windows?

Mr. WinDisappointed.

I suspect you also use WinUpdate for all your drivers too, since you are
attacking me for implying that only unintelligent computer users get
their drivers off of WinUpdate.

When MS shipped Vista, a lot of 3rd party drivers, Hardware and Software,
were not written!

But, MS was greedy to get the money rolling in!

I see you've not changed at all - still a person filled with hate.

I was completely aware that drivers from MS are often problematic, but
the new drivers I downloaded from MS worked very well and they perform
better than I expected.

What is hateful about expressing my opinions? What exactly did you find
hateful?

Hell, not that it makes it right, but I bet that even most of the MVPs
around here agree with both of the opinions expressed in my previous post.

Imagine what MS will do with another year and quarter! Maybe they'll
finally fix the slug that is Explorer, though I won't be holding my
breath.

Isn't he huh? And he's even dumber than we all remember. I guess that
bad day at the Christian camp keeps coming back.
Pity.

I have had no problems with them. In fact as I recall, one of the MS
supplied drivers worked better that the original during the beta.
