I have no idea what you mean by "RAM patch" unless it refers to
onboard graphics RAM chips and/or the BIOS EEPROM chip.

As for the E139761 identifier, it appears to be the "UL File Number
for Intel Pentium version motherboards: E139761 (Component side)".

Instead look for a "PB Part Number: Intel bare circuit board part
number (Solder side) eg. PB A22167-003".

It contains your serial ports, parallel port, infrared, floppy

logic.

In short, it tells you nothing about the identity of your motherboard.

Thanks, I get it now, although I think it's bizarre.

I wonder what other words or phrases are taboo.

BTW, I searched for "f l o o d" in the Google Groups archives for this
NG and found a post dated March 22, 2008. Therefore this block must be
relatively recent.

Well, it might be, but it could be that those style of addresses may have
been used for some form of attack. For many years, one couldn't post those
references in dozens of forums and groups.

As for the other, now that one doesn't make any sense. Perhaps its in
preparation for the coming hurricane season here, and other activities
related occurring around the world, and Spam/false activities related to
raising money for relief. Still would make no sense to block the word
though.

(I had to space out your word because my reply wouldn't go through)

I see your reply but only if I retrieve it from Internode's news
server. It doesn't appear in Microsoft's news feed.

I suspect that your news server (usenetcompany.com ?) does not honour
Microsoft's request that this group be moderated.

See http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/moderated-ng-faq/

====================================================================
Subject: Q1.2 What happens to articles in a moderated newsgroup?

When someone tries to post a news article to a moderated group, the
local news server software automatically intercepts the post, and
e-mails it to a moderation address for processing by the moderator.

Once the message reaches the moderation address, it may be handled by
a human moderator, or forwarded to one of a panel of moderators, or
filtered by some form of moderation software.

If a message is approved and posted by a moderator, it appears on the
moderator's news server and then spreads to other news servers.

OK, so the message got through. It seems that MS groups are not
moderated as far as Usenet is concerned. The filtering must be local
to the MS news server. This means that only those using the MS server
will be affected.

That seems to be the case...
as my own news server usually displays more messages than the MS news server

So we have come full circle, back to my original posts concerning filtering
of MS [last year, disclaimed by several parties, MVPs included], and posts
which may appear out in USENET and not here [postings to Sunny and 98Guy,
several months ago]... which I previously demonstrated...

Good for you. But I'm surprised that any MVP would claim that there is NO
filtering of the MS server. I'm not sure for how long, but I've known for
years, at least. Every MVP that I know who regularly attends this group has
also known. Both for SPAM and for obscenities, and possibly, in a few cases,
for legal reasons. And, of course, whenever any bot filtering is involved,
all kinds of silly oddities are going to show up. Then you add the fact that
it's run by Microsoft, and they just aren't really good at making this kind
of stuff work (c.f . Hotmail, Live, the old Passport.)

No, I suspect a misunderstanding, probably derived from differing
definitions of terms.

NOW THAT'S A ***B I G*** SURPRISE !!!!
:)

You just gotta LOVE those guys in Redmond.

BTW, I have filtered out discussions.microsoft.com (or
something) AS WELL as GG a month or so ago and I am very happy.

There is a difference between them, but NEITHER are Usenet,
AFAIAC.

P.S. Vague ideas of having some "fun" with those jerks spring to
mind... Anyone more motivated than I am, PLEASE go ahead! Of
course, whatever you do, it /probably/ won't show on MS servers,
so one could argue it's pointless.

Don't y'all just LOVE freedom of expression?

Oh, right, I forgot... It's 2008!
