Spybot Crashes

The latter.

Typically I am green>40% here on msoe, but not as high as I would be if I
did get rid of the startup stuff. I checked every item and the arguments are
for increased performance early on hotfixes. No spyware, adware just patches
from Netropa and HP Backweb when I still ran it. One problem they had with
this hp system in universities was a constant ping to the Backweb/Infospace
server or even MS critical updates is another. Here is a list of these:
hpsysdrv HPScanPatch usbmmkbd.exe bpcpost.exe Hidserv.exe KeyBoard
Manager [Netropa]. The rest of the stuff is Avast or ZA or MS critical KB ~.
The classic minimum necessary startup stuff is: scanregw.exe systray.exe
LoadPowerProfile both run/service taskmon.exe mstask.exe. I also have
MSDTC and inetinfo.exe on.

First thing I could suggest would be to get rid of that keyboard and all
it's supporting junk.

And about bpcpost.exe. Do you really use Microsoft Web TV?

And are you running PWS (inetinfo.exe)? If so, there's where I'd bet your
Resources went.

Good points.
I have fiddled with them in the past, and may in the future. So I just left
them on. I should have written, with nothing on but windows and these
startup I am >58%. With just explorer on it is a wow >90%. How great win98
would have been without all the junk!

The "great" that could have been was if Bill (or whomever) hadn't limited
User and GDI Resources to such pitifully small amounts. That is THE fatal
flaw that killed Windows 9x.
