File History Duplicate Back Ups

I too am getting this problem. Every one of my many thousands of photographs is backed up twice, despite my never having changed them. It doesn't appear to be doing this for documents, or to photographs on my wife's profile on the same computer.

Short of manually deleting them, or re-formatting the external drive and starting file history again, has anyone any ideas ?
