Old account with forgotten password, want to change device account to current account

I set up a second Microsoft account on a device I rarely used. I have a use for the device now, but don't remember the password. The account has expired. I can't get passed the password screen to reset the account to my existing user account. How can I remove the password and get to the start menu?
