Communications Headphones and Speakers/Headphones can’t play at the same time

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to view this.

 

 

I got new headphones (beexcellent gm-1 gaming headphones) but the headphone sound can’t play at the same time as my communication headphone sound.

 

 

Example: when I’m not in a Skype call, sound works fine. I can watch youtube videos easily and hear everything. When I am jn a Skype call, I can’t hear sound from any other program (only once have I been able to hear sound from an editing program while I was in a Skype call, but I usually can hear nothing.)

 

 

Sometimes I can’t even hear anything if I have a program that uses communication headphones open; I opened Discord while I was watching a video and the sound stopped and my headphone setting showed “Speakers/Headphones” as Not plugged in.

 

 

It’s very troublesome, because I can’t do anything involving sound while I’m on Skype, so i’d appreciate the help! Again I have a windows 8 and my headphones are beexcellent gm-1 gaming headphones. Thank you!
