Hi I turned off my laptop the other day as it wanted to do some updates. Ive turned it back on and it has reverted back to windows 8, all

my photos and documents are gone and it was like the computer was brand new again. Is there anyway to get it back to how it was or will I have to buy windows 10? I had my photos backed up on disks so its not a drama but would be easier if I can just somehow redo it how it was.
