Guest KrishnaDhanapal Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Hi, so about 5 years back when I purchased my laptop, it came with windows 8, to which I registered my account. Then about a year or two later, windows 10 came out and I upgraded. I've been using that ever since. Until recently when I had some hardware problem and had to reformat my laptop. I used my dell windows 8 recovery USB. It reinstalled the windows 8 64bit OS. Now to enter windows I have to login. My problem is, my account isn't available. All it has is "other user". I tried logging in with my email, and it keeps saying incorrect password. However, when I log in to the Microsoft website with the same email and password, I'm able to. Why is this so? I've tried looking for solutions online that asks to boot the device with safe mode, but it is still the same problem. It asks for the password for "other user". I've tried opening the cmd, and it still brings me to a screen that asks for the password. Anyone knows how to solve this? Continue reading... Quote
