Samsung Laptop display SOMETIMES goes off when idle

I've checked right through all the power option settings (0, never), screensaver ('none') etc. and still sometimes the screen goes blank when left unattended. (Win 8). I've a 'sister' laptop which i upgraded to Win 7 from 8 and that does not have the same issue. (These Win 8 machines didn't come with OS CD as backup.)

Could really do with a Samsung utility to stop Windoze from interfering with the hardware.

Any suggestions ?
