To fix this bug on alien ware just start up your computer and wait for the options on bottom left to come up then quickly press f11 to cancel the frozen[ windows 7 to 8 ] update and reboot automattically then wait until the something went wrong notification to click restart then it will say there is an update and it will go 5 % at a time then refresh your pc and you will be at your homescreen again- YAYYY
