Reset my computer and Windows won't activate

Hi,

I bought a new HP laptop with Windows 8 four years ago. Later there was free upgrade to windows 10.

I decided to restore my computer to it's original setting using the option "Delete all files".

Now it has reset to it's original settings and it has Windows 8 but windows are not working and it says "Product key used is not working". There is not product key on the laptop. There never was a product key. Windows were already installed when I bought it. Brand new from HP.

What do I do?
