Registering mscal.ocx

Recommended Posts

I am trying to install a date drop in Excel. I have been able to do it on another HP Windows 8 computer, but not on a Dell. The problem appears to be MSCAL.OCX. In Visual Basic when I select form 1 and select other options, I do not get a calendar to select which appears on the HP. A search on the Web says mscal.ocx is not registered and how to register it. I go to sysWOW64 and locate mscal.ocx right click and select open with registry editor utility, select OK to the following windows and then get a message the says cannot register script and binary problems. trying to use the command prompt with administrative approval was also unsuccessful. I originally transfered the mscal.ocx file from the HP to the Dell. If you need some snap shots of error windows I can provide them. Thanks Bill
