pc restarts every time when trying to connect to wifi

when trying to connect to internet via the wifi router, the pc reboots itself. it doesn't give any error msgs, and happens only with the router I use at home. Everything's OK with the cable, but not with the wifi connection. all my other hardware but the pc connect with the router. I'm using Windows 8, with Qualcomm Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter.
