Hi, I'm submitting this via my chromebook because my sons HP Envy TS 17 laptop, with DVD drive, crashed. It is a hard drive failure so I would like to replace it with a new SSD. I know how to install the new SSD but I don't have an operating system. His computer came with Windows 8 so I thought that would be best to install on the new SSD. Also, for only about $7 I can buy the HP drivers disc that will install all of the needed drivers. So, I thought it would work out best to install Windows 8 rather than 10 or even 8.1. To do this, I need the OS first. What is the easiset way to get/download a copy of Windows 8? I can use another laptop PC and download the OS on a flash drive if needed. If I had a disk, I suppose I could just install the SSD and have Windows boot from the disk. Thanks very much in advance.
