I deleted my WLAN driver and can't reinstall it

Hi! I deleted the Qualcomm Atheros 61×4 Wireless driver from my laptop in hopes of fixing my network issues. But now I'm unable of reinstalling it. I've tried by looking for changes in the hardware, but nothing shows up. I looked for the driver on Acer's page, copied it to a USB and then passed it to my laptop. I then followed the steps for installation, and restarted my laptop after it was done. However, once it restarted, the driver did not appear as installed and the laptop was slower than before. I have an Acer Apspire V Nitro in Windows 8.
