Windows Host File - NetBios Name - Workgroup

Hi

 

 

Nginx Server’s IP is natted to Public ip and from outside we are able to open IIS page of WebServer.

 

 

 

The Web Application that is going to be installed on Web Server’s require to connect to Database Servers and name resolution should happen.

 

 

 

I’ve entered ip and hostname of Database Servers in host file of Web Servers. When I’m going to do nslookup it is not resolving ip to name. I should be able to resolve Database Server’s availability group’s name in webservers.

 

 

 

What exactly should happen when you add an entry to hosts file?

 

 

Can I make use of NetBios Name? How to do it?
