Guest SeaShellsMan Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 In Windows 8.1 how can I keep indexing of a specific folder from resetting to indexing after I go into properties and turn off indexing? I have a folder that is used for downloading photos and other items, but mostly photos. The folder is excluded from indexing under the normal system indexing built/rebuild. It appears that whenever I shutdown the computer and then boot it the next day, the folder resets to indexing. I am using the Admin account to change the properties. I uncheck the box next to "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties". Then click OK and return to the Downloads Properties screen where in click Apply. when done, I click OK to exit the screen. Continue reading... Quote
