My Packard bell computer goes into preparing automatic repair and then a black screen when I turn it on

Hello. I have had a packard bell, windows 8 laptop for 8 years now and there was never anything wrong with it until one day, i tried turning my laptop on and it said ‘Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some error info, and then we’ll restart for you`. Then it would say preparing automatic repair and after that it would go into a black screen. Then it would do the same thing all over again. Please help me fix this. Thank you.
