Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8.1

Hello,

 

I keep trying to find an answer but I seem to keep running into dead ends. Im not the greatest with computers so I will do my best to give as much info as possible.

 

 

I have my brothers older (5 year old?) gaming computer. Right now the computer has Windows 8 pro and I need 8.1 for the game I want to play. I cant get the update through the store as it says what I have doesnt support the store. I also have a volume license i think, and I keep getting taken to the volume license login page but I have no idea what information is needed for it and neither does my brother.

 

 

Can someone help? can I get 8.1? Do I have to pay for it? what do I need to do?
