Rewards not available in the Isle of Man

Why when I try to register for the rewards program from an Isle of Man IP address does it come back with:

 

Microsoft Rewards is not available in this country or region.

 

Sorry, Microsoft Rewards is currently only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Republic of Ireland, Brazil, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Mexico and Taiwan.

 

 

 

 

If it is available in the UK then it should by law be available in the Isle of Man. Since there is a customs and excise agreement and also for the time being Protocol 3 of the UK treaty with the EU, both of which make the Island a part of the UK for trade purposes.

 

 

 

My account has my location as UK so it must be based on IP address. Mine is in the range 83.218.30.*. A quick whois lookup on the RIPE database shows the country as GB anyway.
