How do I add a browser to a tablet

Hi. I just bought a tablet that afterwards I discovered has an old UK. explorer browser. I need USA. It won't open to let me change it and the play store keeps asking me to add a new account. It is not giving me anyplace to add my existing google account info. I did get my WiFi hooked up. I have attached it to my laptop to try that way but so far no luck. Can anyone give me directions on how to do this? Thanks.
