I have an old HP Envy 15-J103SL (Windows 8) that I am trying to get going again to give to my father. Last week I reset it to factory settings, and must have chose to login with my Microsoft account when prompted to. Now I am trying to log in into the pc but it won't take my password (can't be 100% certain if I simply can't remember it or - more likely - it's not accepting it for some other reason). The only option it offers me to reset the password is by inserting a usb device if I previously set up a recovery disk -- which I didn't. I tried holding shift while resetting, but I can't get any recovery options menu to show up. The computer is able to connect to internet. I am also logged in with my Microsoft account in the pc I currently use; could that be part o the problem (trying to login with the same account with two pcs)? How do I get out of this situation?
