How to use MIC in Audio PORT

Hello -

 

I have an HP laptop with Windows 8. I've been trying to use a headset microphone with the laptop, but while the computer recognizes the headphones and will play sound through them correctly, I cannot find a way to make the computer also recognize that there is also a microphone attached. It does not work with any programs - recording, Skype, Audacity, etc.

 

This is not a USB headset - it plugs into the headphone/mic jack. I also tried to another headphone it also not working (playing sound well but mic not working) I also tried to install the drivers but both not working well.

 

In my laptop there is two port i also tried to connect another port in this audio sound was not working but mic is working very lowly I need to find a solution to this problem; my laptop's microphone doesn't provide the recording quality I need for the job I need to do.
