Restore bookmarks/folders

99% of my book marks/folders were transferred into java script object notations someplace and are missing on my old firefox , yahoo.com page.. This happened when I upgraded my firefox Mozilla browser... which is also contaminated with google search that is used in internet explorer.. It seems Iam using internet explorer as my browser now and ? firefox... Firefox doesn't seem to help because the format on my home page doesn't reflect what firefox is saying.. so no format to follow. Iam afraid of re downloading firefox or deleting firefox as a browser because chances are I will lose the bookmarks.... The next / how to change Java script back to html so I can copy somewhere else, add to my own url/bookmark page ? I have gotten no help from yahoo or firefox the tutorials are mute_ and doesn't apply to getting bookmarks etc... back..
