Password reset

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows8. I haven't used it for a while and I forgot my password. I attempted several passwords that I thought it might be. But no luck. Now the system is telling me I need to go to account.live.com to resolve the issue. I'm not very good at navigating anything, but here I am at this site. I'm typing this message on a different computer - obviously, since I can't access the one that is locked. Can someone tell me how I can get a new password for my other device?
