headphone jack

Headphone jack stopped working last night.

 

Plugging in headphones DID give the "you just plugged..." message, but the speakers kept playing and no sound from headphones.

 

Restarted: no change

 

There is no headphone option showing in the device/sound setup, so can't enable it there.

 

Disabled all sound devices, powered down, restarted

 

Re-enabled all visible sound options, but no headphones option available.

 

 

NOW:

 

Speakers fine.

 

No headphone option anywhere I can see.

 

And now I don't even get a message when I plug the headphones in. Neither for the headphone jack, nor the microphone jack. Last night I got the message, just not the result. Now I get nothing.
