Guest DornTX Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 My old PC broke and I removed the HDD which runs on Windows 8 and I am trying to access the files on it with my laptop which runs Windows 10. I am using a Sata to USB cable for this. When I plug it into my laptop, it does not show up in File Explorer, but the computer does register that an external HDD has been attached when I dig deeper into the system. Is it maybe because my laptop and the HDD run on two different versions of Windows? I am just trying to access some old files. Also, I do know the HDD works, it was the motherboard on my old PC that broke. Continue reading... Quote
